This is just one testimony of a girl your generosity is helping support.

My name is Gabrielle; I am 24 years old and have already lived a full life!

At a very young age I began to live a fast life and by the time I was 16 had been using drugs for several years.

Despite the fact that I came from a very loving and structured family, I chose the wrong path.  Over the course of ten years, I made many wrong decisions, which usually ended up hurting me and my family.  By the time I realized it I was on a fast road to death, it was almost too late.

After the second rehab, 5th time in jail and no telling how many hospitalizations, I thought I had it all together and decided to settle down with a young man.  At first things were okay, but once again another man in my life turned to drugs and became violent.  I left and moved back home with my parents.  Thankfully, God had been breaking me down for several years.  My family had been restored to me and like the loving family they were, opened their arms to me and accepted me back in.  I continued working and I stayed clean.  A week after leaving the man I mentioned, I found out that I was pregnant.  As big of a blessing that it was, the circumstances were unstable.

On November 28, 2006, Annabella Grace was born.  God had restored my family, my life and even blessed me with a child’s life.  Life began to be hopeful.  I was a good mom, but two months later I was taking prescribed narcotics for anxiety which caused me to spiral into yet another addiction.  Without such a loving family, I probably would have eventually turned to street drugs again, but thank the Lord, I got caught.  My behavior had changed and people noticed.

That’s when I heard of the Agape House and my life finally began to take shape.  Now, I am living for the Lord and on the road to healthy living.

TESTIMONY FROM A GRADUATE

My name is Joanna and I am a 40 year old woman with a tragic past.  By the grace of God and a place called the Agape House, my past is a blessing.  I now have an opportunity to tell you my story.

I am a 20 year drug addict.  I have been to seven drug treatment centers in my lifetime.  I have two children.  One of them is about to make me a grandmother!  I am proud to say that they are both very proud of me and still love me dearly.  Praise God!

I have been filled with guilt and shame because of my drug addiction.  I have caused a lot of pain.  By the grace of God, I never have to live the way I was accustomed to living.

The Agape House is a faith-based program.  That means we get no state funding.  The area churches donate to our cause.  Individuals also give and we deeply appreciate the care the community has shown us.  People also donate time and tech us.  There are no words to explain what a life changing program this really is.  The selflessness of the people who keep this house running amazes me on a daily basis.  I thank God and the Agape House for another chance at life.

My name is Tasha O.  I am 24 years old.  I’ve lived in Paragould all of my life.  My parents use to sell drugs.  My mom was in prison 4 times and my dad twice before I turned 18.  I had turned to drugs myself by the time I was 13.  I spent the next ten years sinking deeper and deeper into drugs.  I even spent some time in prison.  In May of 2006, I was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.  I spent four months in jail on a $100,000.00 bond before coming to the Agape House.  Since I’ve been here, God has healed so much of my broken heart.  Since completing my program, I have stayed on as the Assistant House Coordinator where I am blessed by helping the other girls and giving them a hope of what God can do for them.  I am very grateful for what God has done for me through the Agape House.

My name is Telly G.  I am 31 years old and a mother of a wonderful 11 year old son.  I was an addict for 23 years and 15 years of that I was addicted to meth.  I had no hope and I knew the meth was going to kill me.  One day my mother went to the police department to see about having me committed.  A police officer asked my mom where I was and he came to my house and asked me if I really wanted help and I told him that I did.  He took me to the Agape House and they totally saved my life.  At the Agape House I learned all about God and how to deal with my problems God’s way.  Now I have a relationship with God, and I am in college and I am working.  I stayed at the Agape House of 7 ½ months and now I live on my own and I have 9 months clean.  I give all my thanks to God and the Agape House.
